Former U.S. Senator and current 2012 U.S. Senatorial candidate George LeMieux has announced a preliminary fundraising haul of $950,000 in the latest FEC reporting quarter. LeMieux’s campaign manager Brian Seitchik said that the campaign is “very pleased” with the total amount raised, and this fundraising total shows the “confidence people have in him (George LeMieux).” LeMieux’s total edges past Haridopolos’ haul of $900K, the frontrunner in the U.S. Senate race to unseat Democrat Senator Bill Nelson.Seitchik says that the exact numbers will not be released until Thursday or Friday of this week. It will be interesting to see how much of the $950K is aloted solely for the Republican primary race, and what will be left for the General election. LeMieux’s critics believe that the former Senator should have raised more than he is reporting he has raised.
“In the 2012 election, we have an incredible opportunity to take back the White House, retire Bill Nelson, and end Harry Reid’s reign as Majority Leader. Washington is bizarre and broken and now more than ever we need proven conservative leadership to save America from its government. From students to small business owners to retired military personnel – Republicans across Florida are rallying behind George’s campaign because they believe he has what it takes to defeat the Democrats’ liberal agenda.”-Brian Seitchik, Campaign Manager
