Right after having a major week where he campaigned with President Donald Trump, Congressman Ron DeSantis has received two more endorsements from state lawmakers. State Senator Rob Bradley and Representative Travis Cummings have broken with others in Tallahassee to support the Congressman.
In a statement, Bradley explained that he’s “proud to endorse Ron DeSantis for Governor of Florida. He’s an Iraq veteran with a solid conservative record and the support of our President. He’s demonstrated a fierce commitment to principle in Congress and he will bring the same values to Tallahassee.”
He also mentioned that he would be open to campaigning on behalf of the Congressman, and that he’s “”on board to provide whatever help is needed.”
Cummings added on to what Bradley mentioned by saying that Congressman DeSantis “will be a real leader for our state who will be a champion for conservative causes that will help Florida thrive.”
The majority of state elected officials support Congressman DeSantis’ opponent Florida Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam.
While Putnam was leading in the polls at the beginning of the race, Congressman DeSantis began surging in the polls after President Trump tweeted out his support. As a result, Congressman DeSantis has campaigned with top names in the political field.
