Commissioner Putnam is a proud gun rights activist and has vowed to continue supporting the 2nd amendment in light of calls for stricter gun control, and many people attacked Publix, vowing to withdraw their attendance to the supermarket after they announced their endorsement of the “A” rated, NRA backed candidate.
Since 2017, Publix has donated $650,000, and the supermarket has a long history of donating to Republican committees and candidates.
Putnam is running against Florida Congressman Ron DeSantis in his bid.
