Florida Democrats, who are quick to denounce conservative new sites in defense of their cause, will also promote their media foes whenever it suites their needs and adds to their narrative.
Kevin Donohoe, the Florida Democratic Party’s spokesman, recently put out a statement in response to Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam’s first TV ad.
Here it is:
“Adam Putnam is a lifelong political insider who is struggling to connect with the Republican base. With Ron DeSantis nipping at his heels and Breitbart attacking him daily, Putnam is hitting the panic button and being forced to spend big on TV ads to stabilize his beleaguered gubernatorial bid.
This is just the latest sign that the Republican gubernatorial primary is becoming a divisive, expensive, and ugly race to the right that will badly damage the eventual GOP nominee.”
To Democrats, the Breitbart website is the boogeyman of Democratic politics. During the 2016 presidential campaign cycle, Democrats across the country, including the Florida Democrats, jumped at the opportunity to bash the conservative site over its favorable coverage of then-candidate Donald Trump.
In the end, Democrats lost, thanks to the efforts of Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, Conservative Review, and The Shark Tank. Thank you very much.
