On July 13, 23 Republican members of the House of Representatives voted in favor of allowing taxpayer dollars to be allocated to pay for “gender reassignment surgery” or better known as a “sex change” operation.
This really happened. The ‘Nip/Tuck 23’ bunch voted alongside of every single Democratic representative to continue President Obama’s pro-transgender agenda and policies.
Surprisingly enough, two U.S. Army veterans, Reps. Brian Mast and Darrell Issa, both voted against the Hartzler amendment to not fund these types of sex change operations.
Mast, who’s congressional district is loaded with retired military veterans, did not have to vote alongside Democrats.
Later Mast stated that he “miscast” his vote on the amendment.
**Note- Mast later officially changed his vote.
Here is what members of the U.S. House of Representatives have to engage whenever they are pressed to take a vote. Simple process, right?
South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan (R) slammed the voted, calling out the ‘Nip/Tuck 23’ on his Facebook page.
One of those amendments offered by Vicki Hartzler of Missouri would prohibit taxpayer dollars from being used for gender reassignment surgery for military personnel and their family members, which has an estimated to cost $1.35 billion over 10 years. Passing this amendment and banning the government from picking up the tab on this should be common sense, right? Wrong! The amendment was defeated 214-209. Every Democrat voted against the amendment along with 23 Republicans. We’re $20 trillion dollars in debt, the VA is in shambles, our soldiers aren’t paid enough, and we’re at war with Islamic State, but sure, let’s spend a billion dollars on this. The military restricts people with asthma from serving in the military, but we’re going to pay out billions for people who want to change their sex?
