Replacing term-limited Attorney General Pam Bondi is not small chore, but Rep. Jay Fant is trying to position himself as the best option to fill her big heels, or shoes.
The Jay Fant Campaign for Attorney General has just released a list of seven state legislators who are backing his play to be the Florida’s next top law enforcement official.
Rep. Mike Miller of Orlando; Rep. Bob Cortes of Altamonte Springs; Rep. Rene Plasencia of Titusville; Rep. Joe Gruters of Sarasota; Rep. Stan McClain of Belleview; Rep. Colleen Burton of Lakeland; and Rep. Julio Gonzalez of Venice., who consider themselves to “conservative” members of the state legislature, have come together to support Fant.
“I’m honored to have earned the support of these colleagues in the Florida House,” said candidate Jay Fant. “I’ve worked alongside my fellow House members on legislation important to all Floridians, and I hope to continue working with them from the executive branch. We have a vision for Florida consistent with our values, that freedom comes first and that we have a duty to protect our citizens from too much government.” -Rep. Jay Fant via press release
Rep. Mike Miller sang some more praise for Fant, saying that his colleague “ is uniquely suited to understand the needs of Florida’s job creators and consumers.”
Former Hillsborough County Judge Ashley Moody has also filed to run for Attorney General.
