The hits just keep coming from individuals (mostly Democrats) who feel cheated after Hillary Clinton lost her 2016 presidential bid to now-President Donald Trump.
Democrats and liberal-leaning groups backed by the likes of George Soros and others, have been staging loud and disruptive protests within the usually friendly confines of Republican congressional town hall meetings.
Since Trump was elected, Republican members of the US Congress who have held town hall events in their respective congressional districts, have been met with stiff, sometimes vulgar and disrespectful opposition from protestors.
The latest in the long string of these town hall meeting took place at a Rep. Francis Rooney event in Collier County, Florida, where the booing and jeering was front-and-center.
According to the Naples Daily News, the decade-long Democratic talking point the it is “Bush’s fault” for anything that goes wrong in the world, was on display at Rooney’s town hall.
Many in the crowd of about 500 heckled, “Because of Bush’s war.”-NDN
Usually protestors and the elected official disagree on just about every issue, but Rooney, who is one of the strongest advocates for Everglades restoration, reassured attendees that he would seek federal funding to help efforts to keep the Everglades National Park clean and vibrant.
“Thank you for bringing that up. That’s exactly why I’m focused on getting the federal funds to make sure Everglades National Park continues to flourish.” –Rep. Francis Rooney
But even thought kumbaya moments like the one Rep. Rooney had with angry constituents have occurred, the whole point of these disruptive exercise is try to embarrass President Trump.
Rooney’s event was all about casting blame on Trump, just like Democrats have done with President George W. Bush.
Trump is the new “W” to Democrats.
Expect to hear more “it’s Trump’s fault” from Democrats in the near future.
