Democrats are praising a new bipartisan spending bill penned this week that steers clear of funding President Trump’s “immoral and unwise border wall.”
Those were House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s words, not mine.
Trump recently said that pushing off funding for his “wall” was the smart move in order to prevent a government shutdown, even though the construction of a southern border wall was one of the focal points of his 2016 presidential campaign.
The House and Senate have until 11:59 p.m. Friday to approve the bill, which would avert a government shutdown. If passed, the catchall spending bill would be the first major piece of bipartisan legislation to advance during Trump’s short tenure in the White House. The measure is assured of winning bipartisan support in votes this week, but it’s unclear how much support the measure will receive from GOP conservatives and how warmly it will be received by the White House.-Fox News
Trump loyalists seem to backing his every political play, but if he continues to push back against some of his campaign promises, how long will that support last?
