After two straight statewide campaign losses in Florida, Charlie Crist won (finally) his congressional race against Rep. David Jolly (R) and is in position to possibly become the new face of the Democratic Party.
So, what makes Rep. Crist tick? What gets him out of bed every morning?
According to Crist, not only is he swimming around in the ever-draining D.C. swamp, he starts up every day by dawning on is Speedo swim shorts and takes an early morning (4:30 am) swim.
Crist told CQ-Roll Call what most Floridians familiar with him already knew – Charlie loves to swim.
According to CQ-Roll Call, Crist lifts first before jumping into the pool to bang out some laps, calling his daily dip a “de-stresser.”
“I swim, every day. It’s been great. That’s my thing in the morning. I get up at 4:30 and lift for about 20 minutes and swim laps for about 20 minutes. It’s a de-stresser. I guess it’s like what yoga might be for some. It gives me a chance to think clearly, clear my head.”-Rep. Charlie Crist (D)
Could yoga be Crist’s next “de-stresser” exercise?
We ran into Rep. Crist outside the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives a couple weeks back, exchanging niceties and reminiscing a bit about Florida.
Rep. Crist agreed with me that we needed to sit down and catch up. While we have reached out to his office a couple times to see if we could get him to jump in our little Shark Tank, mum has been the word from his legislative office in D.C.
C’mon Charlie, take a swim with us. We won’t bite.
