The State Department upgraded 84 of Hillary Clinton’s private emails to various levels of classification when they produced 551 emails as ordered by a federal judge on Saturday.
Most of the 84 emails were upgraded to “confidential,” which is the lowest level of classification. Some of them were upgraded to “secret.” None of them were reportedly upgraded to “top secret,” even though the State Department upgraded as many as 29 emails to “top secret” when they missed a court-ordered deadline at the end of January.Clinton still maintains non of the emails were classified at the time even though the intelligence community inspector general has argued many of the now-classified emails were classified at the time.
The State Department is supposed to release thousands more emails in four different installments spread throughout the month of February.
