Former Secret Service agent and congressional candidate, Dan Bongino, appeared on NewsMaxTV’s “Prime” to discuss President Obama’s recent gun control executive orders, where he took the opportunity to ridicule the president for shedding tears during his announcement to increase background checks.
“He’s just lying to your face…You know I watched him cry, you know I cry watching our country being flushed down the toilet bowl by a president who has zero respect for the Constitution and uses it like a Kleenex.”-Dan Bongino
Bongino contends that Obama’s orders give the ATF discretion on determining who the actually seller of a firearm is.
“If you happen to sell a gun to some family member just because you need to get it off your farm or something, and the ATF determines the quote ‘facts and circumstances make you a seller,’ you can be locked up…They can also inspect your premises, you know that.”
Bongino added:
“That’s your benevolent president and his so-called background checks,” he said. “He’s full of it, and he knows it.”
Republican congressional candidate Brian Mast, who Bongino supports in the hotly contested CD 18 race in Florida, has also made mention Obama’s “crocodile tears.”
In a Facebook post, Mast stated this:The crocodile tears that President Obama appeared to have shed when he was announcing his new gun control executive orders, should be seen as tears of disrespect and utter disregard for the Second Amendment to the Constitution.
The administration tried to justify it’s overreach by stating that they are “trying to prevent the next mass shooting”. This is disingenuous at best, but not surprising from an administration that has made it standard operating procedure to subvert the power of Congress.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Bongino is seriously considering a run for Senator Marco Rubio’s Senate seat in 2016. If he decides to run, Bongino would face Reps. David Jolly and Ron DeSantis, as well as businessman Todd Wilcox and Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera in an a Republican primary race.
