Former Florida Governor and presidential candidate Jeb Bush continues to show his loyalty to those friends and supporters that helped make he arguably the most successful governor in the history of the state.
Considered to the be quintessential establishment candidate in the GOP field of Republicans vying to be president in 2016, Bush is helping the state Republican Party raise much needed campaign cash, as the state GOP under Chairman Blaise Ingoglia has struggled in fundraising since he took the helm.Bush needs to shore up his diminishing base of establishment support.
The lack of fundraising isn’t Ingoglia’s fault. Historically, the chief fundraiser for the GOP has always been a sitting Republican governor, not the chairman.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Jeb Bush did it when he was governor, and Charlie Crist followed that lead before he jumped ship to become an Independent Senate candidate in 2010.
For whatever reason, current Florida Governor Rick Scott has not helped with the fundraising efforts over the past year, instead Scott has been raising money for his own committee, as the Tampa Bay Times has pointed out.
Aside from Jeb Bush helping out his fellow Florida Republicans, the other perceived establishment Republican presidential candidate from Florida, Senator Marco Rubio, has also offered to help fundraise for Ingoglia. So, Bush and Rubio are up for helping Florida’s GOP, but what about the other two Florida residents, who just so happen to be running for president as well?
There is no word if Dr. Ben Carson and Mike Huckabee, who both live in Florida, but have not been asked to help with the state party’s fundraising efforts, nor if hey have even offered to do so.
Is all well among the establishment Republican Party in Florida?
Nope.
Wait a minute. What about the frontrunner Donald Trump? Trump is a part-time resident of Palm Beach, Florida, and in the past, has helped raised money for the Palm Beach County GOP.Is there a chance that Trump will offer to raise money for the party, or cut the them a big fat check?
The big question is, would Ingoglia and Florida GOP money men like Rep. Richard Corcoran, Mike Hightower, Ambassador Hoffman-all supporters of Bush- ask for, or embrace Donald Trump’s fundraising efforts?
Probably not.
