The national Republican Party is blaming their failed “Hispanic outreach” program on everyone but themselves. Some within the party are even taking out their frustrations on 2016 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, saying that his recent not-so-kind, but true depiction of the problems that illegal immigration reform brings to the United States. They are saying Trump has hurt the GOP Hispanic get out the vote efforts inside of taking responsibility for their failed outreach.
With Hispanics overwhelmingly backing Obama over Romney in the 2012 presidential election, it is safe and fair to say that their message to Hispanics has been an utter failure.
Again, the GOP establishment continues to let America down with their blind one track approach to this “Hispanic outreach” they talk so much about.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
A recent Pew Research poll stated what I have been saying for years, that the top three issues that concern Hispanics are: the economy, education, and healthcare.
Immigration reform come is fourth, but that is only because of all the fear-mongering that the Democrat Party and it’s pro-illegal immigration lobby have effectively messaged nationwide.
Where is the Republican counter-message against his narrative? It doesn’t exist.
The minute Republicans start talking about issues like education and economic prosperity-issues that drive immigration to the United States- Democrats play the race card, and Republicans fold.
Notice how Democrats really never speak about what really concerns Hispanics. They know that immigration reform is a divisive issue that polls well for them, which translates into votes.
It is surprising for me to see Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush taking such a wimpy stance on an issue that both of them can own.
Yeah, Rubio screwed up on supporting amnesty for illegal immigrants with his “Gang of Ocho” Senate immigration bill, and Bush stands by his pathway to citizenship position, but instead of tip-toeing around this issue, both of these two candidates have the opportunity to address the ‘real’ issues that will make inroads within the Hispanic community. The two amigos from Florida can even deliver this message in both English and Espanol!
Ay Caramba!
Maybe they should read my book Brown People to formulate their message>
