Both Democrats and Republicans are quick to call out one another for saying inaccurate statements, citing the Tampa Bay Times “Politifact Truth-o-meter” as the standard to judge all statements made by politicos.
So, to be consistent, we decided to use the Truth-O-Meter’s findings to single out some those Florida politicians who tend to get it wrong, as well as those who seem to know what they are talking about.Let me just say, considering all of the things that politicians say these days, I am surprised many of them do not more of their statements fact-checked.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R)– His statements are considered either “Mostly True,” or “Mostly False,” with only two “Pants On Fire” marks.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Rep. Alan Grayson (D)– Believe it or not, Grayson’s “True” and “Mostly True” ratings are almost even with his “False” or “Mostly False” ones. You would think that with all his bombastic statements, the “Congressman With Guts” would have a punch of “False” ratings.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D)– Surprising to Republicans, Wasserman Schultz’s statements are rated “Mostly True” and “True.” Really?
She does have two “Pants On Fire” ratings.Gov. Rick Scott (R)-Florida’s governor has more “Mostly True” and “Half-Truth” ratings, but has made seven “Pants On Fire” statements.
Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R)– Not much to report on this freshman congressman. Curbelo has one “Mostly True,” one “True,” and one “False” statement.
Rep. Corrine Brown (D)– The same can be said for this highly-controversialmember of Congress. Brown has one “False” and one “True” statement on her record.
Sen. Bill Nelson (D)– This former Astronaut’s Truth-O-Meter rating have him among the most truthful politicos in the state.
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R)– Her record is tops, even though she was only fact-checked twice. No “False” or “Half-Truth” ratings to report.
