On Thursday, U.S. Representative Corrine Brown said there were no riots over Trayvon Martin’s death because of her.
Martin was killed in Sanford and his shooter, George Zimmerman, was later acquitted. That ruling led to protests locally and nationwide but Brown said they did not turn to violence because of her leadership.Brown told the Senate redistricting committee:
We did not have Ferguson and we did not have Baltimore because they had a member in the room.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
As reported by POLITICO, she was testifying before the panel as part of the special legislative session. The special session was being held because the Florida Supreme Court ruled that the last congressional map was invalid.
Brown referenced Martin because Sanford is being removed from her district and she is suing over the changes.
