Hillary Clinton announced that she supported lifting the U.S. embargo against Cuba, and said that she would ask Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and the rest of the Congress, to lift the decades-long embargo.
But while Clinton outline the reasons why the “failed” embargo needed to be lifted, Clinton also made the case why it shouldn’t be lifted, and reminded Americans that the Castro regime was not to be trusted.Anyone who thinks we can trust this regime, haven’t learned the lessons of this group.-HC
We should be under no elusion that the regime will end its repressive ways anytime soon, as its continued use of short-time detentions demonstrates.-HC
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
After Clinton finished her address, dozens of pro-embargo, Cuban-Americans demonstrated outside the music hall at Florida International University chanting “Cuban Lives Matter,” in support of the thousands of Cubans who have suffered under the repressive Castro regime.
If elected president, Clinton threatened executive action to facilitate travel to the Cuba from the U.S., if the U.S. Congress did not act.The Cuba embargo needs to go once and for all-Hillary Clinton
I would work with Congress to lift the embargo…We should help more Americans go to Cuba, if congress wont act to do this, I will use executive authority to make it easier for more Americans to visit the island.
Clinton also took the opportunity to bash Republicans like Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, who oppose lifting the embargo, and she believes “still think that Latin American is still a land of crime and coups.”
