As reported by the Miami Herald Scott asked Florida National Guard, Adjutant General Michael Calhoun to make sure all qualified soldiers have guns so they can defend themselves.
Calhoun said until now there was no policy to arm recruiters unless they were in a state building or had their own personal weapon.
Calhoun also said:We just want to reassure our recruiters and the individuals that come to those centers are protected.
Scott is also looking into additional options which include installing bullet proof glass at recruitment centers and having local police patrol the recruitment centers an armories.
Scott also said:
I do hope the president is taking notice of what we are doing here.
