Love him or hate him because of his arrogance, but Donald Trump has finally put his money where his mouth is-he is officially running for president in 2016.
Political know-it-alls are quick to dismiss Trump as being a “clown” for running for president, referring to him as being nothing more than a sideshow distraction.Let me just say this. Trump is a viable candidate, and if pushed far enough, he could throw a wrench into Republican plans by possibly running as an Independent.
As Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show, if Trump were to leave the GOP and run for president as an Independent, Hillary Clinton will win the 2016 presidential general election.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Beware the Ross Perot effect.
I don’t think Trump will jump ship, because a move like this would all but ruin him within the arena of public opinion. Democrats would praise him, while Republicans will hate him, as will most Independents.
But what will be interesting about a Trump presidential candidacy, will be how relentless his attacks against Jeb Bush will be.Trump has made it very clear that he believes Bush is bad for America, and is expected to go after the former governor of Florida at every turn, ripping him on his support for Common Core and a pathway to citizenship for millions illegal immigrants.
Here is what Trump told Fox News about what he thinks of Jeb Bush:
“I’m not a big fan of Jeb Bush. The last thing we need is another Bush, believe me.”
We caught up with ‘The Donald’ earlier this year at the Iowa Freedom Summit in Des Moines, Iowa, where he talked more about how he feels Jeb Bush is a compromised candidate.
