During an interview on Sunday night’s CNN’s “State of the Union” Jeb Bush said he believes he will break away from the rest of the Republican’s when he announces he is running for president.
Bush said:I think this transaction to a candidacy will allow me to be more direct about my advocacy of the leadership skills necessary for the next president to fix a few things.
As a candidate, contrary to someone who has been listening and learning along the way, I’ll offer up alternatives to the path we’re on as well, so I’ll be more specific on policy.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Bush is expected to announce his candidacy on Monday in Florida. There are already 10 GOP candidates that have announced.
He also said:
People make up their minds in the last weeks of these primaries. My expectation is we’ll have slow, steady progress. That’s been the expectation all along.
When it comes to his announcement, Bush said he will have one person on his mind: his dad. Jeb’s dad, former President George H. W. Bush just turned 91 last Friday. Jeb said:
I love my dad, and called him yesterday and wished him a happy birthday. He’s the greatest man alive, and I’ll be thinking of him when I’m announcing my decision.
As a bonus, here is some raw footage of Jeb Bush talking about his announcement speech:
