Wisconsin Governor and presumed 2016 Presidential hopeful, Scott Walker has changed his view on two key issues. One is immigration reform and the other is right-to-work in his state.
In regards to illegal immigration Walker appeared on “Fox News Sunday” and said:My view has changed . . . I’m flat out saying it.
Back in 2013 he said a plan that allowed illegal immigrants to become US citizens after they paid penalties and waited for a designated period made sense.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Nowadays, he is saying he abandoned his previous ideals amidst criticism that he was flip flopping on the issue.
Walker has since said:
I don’t believe in amnesty. We need to secure the border. We ultimately need to put in place a system that works — a legal immigration system that works.”
That is not the first time Walker has changed his mind.
During his 2014 re-election he called the right-to-work bill in the Wisconsin Legislature a “distraction.” Now he backs the plan and has said “now is the perfect time” to pass the bill that would stop unions from collecting dues from non-union workers.
This leaves people to question whether he is changing his opinions by himself of if he is simply changing his opinions to be more appealing as a 2016 Republican Presidential contender.
