Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is preparing to back down on the Republican fight against Obama’s unconstitutional immigration reform and try to pass a clean Department of Homeland Security funding bill in the Senate very soon.
House Republicans had previously passed the DHS funding bill which included a rider that would defund Obama’s immigration reform. Democrats keep trying to block that bill from being passed in the Senate. With only days before the shutdown, McConnell has said he would “be happy” to pass a clean DHS funding bill per The Hill.
If accepted by the Senate Democrats and House Republicans it would prevent Homeland Security from shutting down on Saturday.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
McConnell was also quick to point out the Senate is scheduled to vote Friday on legislation he introduced that would revers President Obama’s immigration reform.
Back in 2012 McConnell had previously agreed to drop language that sought to overturn Obama’s executive actions on immigration.
