President Obama has recently stated that he will not impose a travel ban to and from western African countries strickened with the deadly Ebola disease.
But do you think legislators like Florida Congressman Dennis Ross and Senator Marco Rubio are going to sit idly by while more Americans are put at risk of contracting Ebola from those traveling from Africa?Nope.
Unlike his colleague in the Senate, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY), Rubio supports a travel ban from certain African nations, and has just announced that he will introduce a bill this November that would temporary ban new visas for individuals from Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia-countries where the Ebola outbreak has hit the hardest.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Many other members of the Republican caucus in the U.S. Congress, including Rubio’s fellow Floridians Reps. Ron DeSantis and Dennis Ross, have all called a travel ban.
“The most effective way to combat this deadly virus is to address it at its source,” Rubio said in a release. “This ban on issuance of visas does not mean we will be completely cutting off the affected countries from the outside world. We must continue to increase our assistance to those countries as they struggle to contain this outbreak. That is, ultimately, the only way we will be able to stop this outbreak and keep Americans safe from this horrible disease.”-Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL)
