Colombian and Americans officials have busted a large sex-trafficking ring in Colombian, rescuing 55 victims, and arresting 11 Colombian nationals who used drugs to force these underage kids into prostitution.
The youngest of the victims, an 11-year-old, told authorities that she was sold for a mere $1000 because she was a virgin at the time. The ring operated out of clandestine sites and massage parlors, frequently relying on taxi drivers to bring in foreign clients looking for underage sex, prosecutors said. Here in the U.S. and specifically in Florida, Senator Marco Rubio, Governor Rick Scott and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi have led the effort to eradicate human trafficking in the state.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Bondi, along with state Senator Anitere Flores (R) pushed for legislation in 2012 that Governor Rick Scotts signed into law, tightening the noose on sex slavery in Florida, making it a “zero tolerance state for human trafficking.
Senator Marco Rubio, who has been front-and-center in the efforts to eradicate the sex-trafficking epidemic, sent over the follow statement:“Florida Governor Rick Scott signed two bills into law that aide the victims of human trafficking, allowing them to start their new post-trafficking lives with a ‘clean slate.’ According to the Miami Herald, the first law “seeks to help human trafficking victims who have trouble moving on with their lives because of their criminal record, while the second law keeps victims’ records private.”-SHARK TANK
“Human trafficking is a serious problem plaguing our hemisphere, and it’s important that the U.S. continue working with our allies in Colombia to combat this problem. Human trafficking in all its forms is deplorable, especially in instances like this when children are victimized.“
Senator Rubio once took out his human trafficking frustration and anger out on the media outlets that egregiously exploit young women by advertising their prostitution services.
Here is what Rubio said at a 2012 human trafficking news conference in Miami, Florida:
I want to take a moment to call attention to one of the most egregious things going on across our country, and that’s Village Voice Media, who runs a number of newspapers around our country, including the New Times here in Miami-Dade County and actively, actively advertising the services of some of these young girls. Actively, you can go on there and buy a human being for two hours, and you can do that on advertising going on in newspapers being printed in this very town by Village Voice Media. It is an outrage.
They make millions and millions of dollars selling human beings in this country.-Senator Marco Rubio (SHARK TANK)
