This is a robocall message Charlie Crist sent out back in 2006 to try to convince voters that he was a true conservative while he was running for Governor against Republican Tom Gallagher.“Hi, this is Charlie Crist calling to set the record straight,” Crist says in the call. “I’m pro-life, I oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants, I support traditional marriage and I have never supported a new tax or big spending program. … Floridians need a consistent conservative governor that they can trust.”
Now Florida Republicans are using Crist’s own words against him in this new robocall targeting Democrat voters. The person said to be behind the attack robocalls is Senator Tom Lee, who was also in the running for Lt. Governor, but was passed over by Governor Rick Scott for former House Majority Leader, Carlos Lopez-Cantera.
Its pretty easy to see what Republicans are doing here, painting Crist as a flip-flopper, who once touted himself as a “conservative Republican” before he had the epiphany that he was really a Democrat.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
While Democrats are not happy with the attack ad using Crist’s own words and voice, the ad is brilliant.
No matter how much Crist tries to play himself off as a Democrat, the truth is that he was once a hardcore Republican, who touted his conservative bonafides, just to get elected to public office.
Wait a minute.Isn’t this the same tactic Crist is using in his effort to be elected Governor? Yup.
