Governor Rick Perry brought his Presidential campaign to hot and humid Fort Lauderdale, Florida for a series of fundraising events and meetings with key South Florida grassroots organizers. Perry says that his campaign is focused on winning Florida and will be engaging the electorate in other large states such as California. Perry will also be participating in the highly anticipated Presidency 5 event this weekend in Orlando, Florida and participating in the Presidency 5 straw poll which he believes is “very important” to his campaign.
When asked if he would sign a Presidential Executive Order mandating the use of military personnel to patrol our borders, Perry indicated that he would work with the four Governors of the southern border states and support a directive to strategically position the military on the border. Perry has also come under scrutiny of late for his past support of in-state tuition for the children of illegal immigrants in Texas, but today he indicated that he is opposed to the so-called “Dream Act”-
