Several of the Senate’s more “moderate” Democrats who were viewed as possible votes in support of a repeal of ObamaCare in the Senate have now gone on the record expressing their opposition to an outright repeal of the ObamaCare as a vote on the measure looms in the Senate. Senators Jim Webb, Joe Manchin, and Bob Casey have all gone on the record saying they will vote against a full repeal. Republican Senator Jim DeMint tweeted on Monday that all 47 Republican Senators would co-sponsor a bill to repeal ObamaCare, S. 192.
And that brings us to Florida’s last standing statewide elected Democrat, Senator Bill Nelson.
Asked directly by National Review Online if he supports a repeal of ObamaCare, Senator Nelson replied curtly “No….Have a Nice Day.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Have a Nice Day???
Sounds like Senator Nelson would rather not chit-chat about his support of an unworkable, and now unconstitutional law.
The battle lines in Florida have now been drawn for 2012. Senator Nelson is going to put his senatorial career on the line against the state’s growing opposition to ObamaCare. Â Last November, congressional representatives Allen Boyd, Alan Grayson, Suzanne Kosmas, and Ron Klein all lost their seats primarily for supporting ObamaCare. Â In the wake of Monday’s decision by the Northern District of Florida, Nelson and his Democratic colleagues would rather whistle dixie and pretend that these federal court rulings are just tiny inconveniences on the inevitable road towards nationalized healthcare. You own ObamaCare in its entirety now, Senator Nelson, and it’s almost certainly going to be the central domestic issue of the 2012 elections. Floridians won’t be accepting meaningless “let’s keep it but make it better” type of rhetoric- Â it’s a safe bet that the ‘Tea Party’ will see to that. Â Now who will be the Republican candidate that will effectively take Nelson to the mat over ObamaCare? Stay tuned…
